New Order - Crystal

I woke up with this song on my mind. It makes me think of my friend Joe Grez and the first time I heard the song, in Dublin with him at the wonderful Whelan's venue. We saw a couple great bands that night, New Prayer Breakfast and the inimitable Daemian Frost, who I really need to get on the ball, rip their ep and post it. SOOOOOO awesome.

M83/Susanne Sundfor on Kimmel

Still no interest in seeing this movie, but this is fantastic. So weird to see M83 introduced as a string section along w/ Anthony Gonzalez and crew. I can't be happier for their success (though I still wonder why Midnight City is the only single that's blown up when there's like five or six from Hurry Up, We're Dreaming and they're ALL AWESOME!

A Place to Bury Strangers - Don't Burn the Fires

A Dead Moon cover - I've never heard of Dead Moon but after this I am most definitely going to be looking into them.

And to be complete I should post this as well. LOVE the stained glass in the background.

Both these last two posts for Secular Haze can be found - along with a WEALTH of awesome imagery that will only further enhance the perona of this amazing band - on their website, which can be accessed via the following links.

Ghost BC - Secular Haze

I'm so wrapped up in this ghost record right now that I'm revisiting a lot of the tracks and images released in the lead-up to it. I realized I never posted this one.

This and Nick Cave and the Bad Seed's Push the Sky Away are easily going to rank in my top ten of the year.

Savages - Shut Up

New Savages. I'm liking this band more and more. Had a chance to see them last Thursday at the Echo (I think it was the Echo). I should have gone, but when wake up time is 430AM, it's hard to head out for a nine PM show.

And that's me done being acting like an old fuck for a while. 37 is not that old, especially when stoked on music like this all the time.

End blathering.

Terry Moore's Rachel Rising on TV? (via Bloodydisgusting)

REALLY interesting news tonight via the always mighty Bloodydisgusting - one of my favorite comics in recent years, Terry Moore's Rachel Rising, has just been licensed for tv. Read the full article BD article here and if you dig comics and haven't read RR please give it a shot. I wrote some praise for the book here and here.
