Fell Voices
Wow. Just found band and I really like them. Like a large, dark drill that grinds through the armor of your skull and fills your head with shadows. And the desciption, "Cascadian Black Metal"? AWESOME. Subgenres may be pretentious and unnecessary, but sometimes they just fit!
You can go to their label Gilead Media's bandcamp page here and buy a bunch of Fell Voices (as well as other bands') music, most of which is of the "Name Your Price" variety. Remember, help FEED artists.
God is LSD - Girl on Fire
It's been a while since I dug this out - one of my all time favorite records. I special ordered God is LSD's Spirit of Suicide from Red Tower in Orland Park back in the early 90's after reading a write-up of it in Subculture magazine. It didn't disappoint then and still holds strong today. This is my favorite song on the record, although, "Trippin... and Fucking the World" is a close second.
It's been a while since I had a GILSD jag - 'bout to remedy that.
Tiamat - Clouds
Wow. I haven't heard this in ages. One of my favorite album covers (although the crucified raven disturbs me a bit)
A Place to Bury Strangers - In Your Heart
I've probably posted this before, but it's so good it's worth posting again (and again and again).
Stag Hare - Sandpaintings
Found this via Warren Ellis' Twitter. I like - definitely fits the floating, hung-over mood I have this morning. You can of course click on the widget and follow it back to the group's bandcamp where the album is digitally offered at the "Name Your Price" cost. Or you can go to Inner Island Records and buy the C30 cassette!
