Nekrogoblikon

How has this existed for three years and I have never heard of it? Well, thanks to Bloody Disgusting, who have the new Nekrogoblikon video up here I found this wonderful video. I didn't love it at first... and then I did.

Twin Peaks Intro... Done with Paper!

Saw this on Bloodydisgusting earlier in the week. Very cool. The opening notes of this theme song always have a calming influence on me, and if I make it all the way through I usually get a little choked up from nostalgia.

NEW Faith No More - Superhero

May 19th cannot come fast enough!

I'm posting this track here for others, but full disclosure I am not listening to it. That won't be an easy pledge to keep, however I'm really looking forward to hearing all the new songs on the album in the context of the album. While I broke down and listened to Motherfucker - my wife bought me the 7" for Christmas - that's as far as I'm willing to go for now.

Perturbator - She is Young, She is Beautiful, She is Next

Via Bloody Disgusting. This is just fantastic. Also, the upcoming record this is taken from, Dangerous Days, has one of my favorite album covers in recent memory.

Rob Zombie's New Horror Movie?

via Bloody Disgusting. I have NO idea what this will be but despite my dislike of H2 (beautifully shot, and that's the only good thing I can say about it) and subsequent relative disappointment in the Lords of Salem - which looks amazing but I was unable to make it all the way through due to what I perceived at the time to be an amazingly sluggish pace* and next to no plot advancement from the inciting incident into almost the end of the second act, I am excited for this. Mr. Zombie's much touted, "I'm done with horror" scared me. Whether he balks or slams one out of the park, I like Zombie on the Horror hound side. I don't want to applaud what may be a diminutive situation for him - being stuck inside a genre he wants out of - but what can I say? House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects are, in my mind, modern classics of the genre (even if they do wear their influences on their sleeve. So what? It makes it so you can watch them and go, "Oh! Zombie loves House by the Cemetery too! Awesome!) and aspects of the Theatrical cut of Halloween turn what is essentially an over-explained and unneeded remake into a beautifully rendered piece of cinema.

...........

* I intend to give Lords of Salem another chance as a lot of folks whose opinions I respect loved it and in the film's defense, I tried watching it after I'd been up for almost 24 hours, so what I perceived as a 'sluggish pace' may have actually been me nodding off.

Fivre - Trailer

All I can say after watching this trailer is 'You had me at Ether'. At a glance this looks like a cross between Ken Russell's Gothic, Dante Tomaselli's work and Beyond the Black Rainbow. Go read some actual details about this fantastic-looking new film on Bloody Disgusting. Director Romain Basset is one to watch for future awesomeness.

Penny Dreadful Trailer

via Bloody Disgusting, and there's a lot more info on this new Showtime series (cast, creators, etc.) if you read their article here. This looks to be Showtime's answer to American Horror Story so hopefully the quality is on par. I don't know much about this other than what I read tonight but based on this trailer I'm excited. Now as long as this doesn't pull a Hemlock Grove and end up being... less than what I'd expected (though a good friend has told me to give HG another chance, as all I watched was the pilot).

And Marilyn Manson's Phantasmagoria is FILMING???

Via the mighty Bloody Disgusting, you can read their article here. I had actually never seen this trailer before. If the film bears any resemblance to it this will be Phantastic!!!

✝✝✝ (Crosses) - Bitches Brew

Chino from the Deftone's other, other band. I learned of this via Bloody Disgusting this morning and was faced with a conundrum when I went to repost. The video is 'Unlisted' on youtube. When this is the case as soon as you go to the embed area a nice little msg. pops up reminding you to be polite, i.e. the original poster - here the band's label Sumerian Records - may not want it reposted. However, with BD already helping circulate the video, and the my entire perceived understanding of music videos as - in this case - artistically sound mini films that essentially function as promotional material for the music, well, I can't see why the band/label wouldn't want it reposted for more people to see.

That said, great video. The record is out 2/11/14 on Sumerian (pre-order here)and if it's half as good as the previous EP it will be great.

Reverend Horton Heat's New Video

Great song. Great video. The change at 1:46 is killer.

After spending much of my twenties with the records The Full Custom Gospel Sounds of the Reverend Horton Heat, Liquor in the Front, It's Martini Time and Space Heater the Rev.'s been hot and cold with me. Everything he does is great, but a lot of it is within the same 'box' if you will. This is no different, but when the mood strikes me I can throw on the newer stuff (Spend A Night in the Box and up) can still make me smile (and suck the beers down faster than usual). Tonight was one of those nights. Thanks to Bloody Disgusting for posting this. It's from the new record REV on Victory Records.

The Conspiracy Trailer

The first I heard of this movie was just a few moments ago on Bloody Disgusting. Go here and you will find considerably more information. But not only does this look great in an almost Eyes Wide Shut-meets-Blair Witch Project fashion, but it directly spins off of a conversation I JUST HAD LIKE AN HOUR AGO.

Weird. Just saying.

Bloody Cuts Films Presents - Lock Up

I posted another one of these a while back and have been wanting to go back and watch another. The one I finally landed on is Lock Up and just like Don't Move it is fantastic! An excellent Horror short with a truly frightening pay off. Go to Bloody Cuts Films website for more shorts and thanks again to Bloody Disgusting for getting the word out about Bloody Cuts and turning me onto them.

Pretty in Purgatory Band Trailer (via Bloody Disgusting)

The first 37 seconds or so of this sounds like In Slaughter Natives to me (esp. the drums), and that is a very cool thing. Then I'm not so sure. I like the tone and the iconography, if only just. Curious to see if I like the rest. via the Almighty Bloody Disgusting - follow that link to read more details about Pretty In Purgatory.
